Day 0 of my trip started in a very funny way… When I checked in on facebook from Heathrow to Bangkok, a friend – Ricsi – called me straightaway. He didn’t even say anything on the phone because he saw me walking there from 5 metres distance. He came there with the phone in his hand and we looked at each other very weirdly. It’s funny because we haven’t been speaking for a while and there you go: he was also on his way to Bangkok to get some sun 2 days later down on the Islands… What a coincidence.
We flew to Bangkok and ended up being awake for 40 hours in a row to catch up with local time. Both day 1 and 2 were massive: we jumped in the middle of Bangkok. A city which is totally surreal: 8.2M people lives there which causes dirt, smells, crazy traffic and a lot of things what European mind is unable to co-op with. Regarding the traffic, there are scooters running in swarms like birds, buses, cars, tuk tuks and there are no rules basically…Reminds me of Egypt. Vehicles don’t stop at the pedestrian crossing for example. The traffic is like water, goes and finds its way and if you pick the rhythm up you are part of it (if not you just stay where you are forever). The place is so surreal, this is the way I imagine hell: smells, chaos, hot….
The whole thing is an amazing experience and the Thai people are super dooper nice. Food is awesome, except 1 bad choice I made in a restaurant.
Ricsi, thanks for the company and the pictures and enjoy the beaches on the South my friend. Did we really walked 30 km-s in 2 days?

A turam 0. napja eleg viccesre sikeredett. Amikor a facebook-on bejelentkeztem a Heathrow – Bangkok repuloutamra, egy regi barat – Ricsi – azonnal felhivott. Egy szot sem szolt, mert rogton meglatott tole 5 m-re telefonnal a kezemben setalni. Vicces votl a talalkozo, mert egy ideje nem beszeltunk es nezz oda: o is eppen Bangkokba volt uton hogy napozzon egyet Del-Thaifoldon.
Egyutt repultunk Bangkokba ahol az elso napunk 40 orasra sikeredett, hogy felvegyuk a ritmust a helyi idozonaval. Mindket nap masszivra sikeredett: fejest ugrottunk Bangkok kellos kozepebe. Bangkok, a varos ami teljesen szurrealis: 8.2M ember el itt, ami hatalmas koszt, szagokat es egy orult forgalmat general, plusz egy csomo olyan dolgot, amit az europai agy keptelen felfogni. A forgalomrol csak annyit, hogy az egesz egy robogokbol, autokbol, buszokbol es tuk tuk-okbol allo massza es alapvetoen nincsenek szabalyok… Kicsit, mint Egyiptomban. Jarmuvek nem allnak meg a zebranal peldaul… A forgalom mint a viz, ugy talalja meg az utjat es ha felkapod az utemet reszese leszel (ha nem, akkor orokre ottragadsz valahol az ut szelen). A varos teljesen szurrealis, igy kepzelem el a poklot: budos, kaotikus es forro…
Az egesz ittlet egy fantasztikus elmeny azonban es a thaiok nagyon kedvesek. A kaja nagyon kiraly (kivetel egy fott diszno-etelt, amit bevalaszottam egy etteremben).
Ricsikem, kossz meg1x a bulit es a kepeket es erezd jol magad a szigeteken!
